Samsung STORY Station Plus

Samsung have introduced a new, upgraded version of its Samsung STORY Station in the form of the Samsung STORY Station Plus which, along with offering the same USB 2.0 interface as its predecessor, additionally boasts eSATA support offering enhanced data transfer rates.
Ideal for large volume data backup, the new Samsung STORY Station Plus, in utilising an eSATA interface, offers a maximum data transfer speed of up to 3Gbps as opposed to the 40Mbps offered by USB 2.0 and as well as coming with a host of bundled-in software (specifically Auto Backup, SecretZone and SafetyKey) the new Samsung STORY Station Plus offers a maximum capacity of 2TB, with 1TB and 1.5TB capacities also being represented.
Additionally we assume that the new version of the STORY also touts the same eco credentials as its USB 2.0 only cousin which would see the drive manufactured from the same environmentally-friendly materials that comply with international environmental standards such as RoHS whilst also offering the same auto-standby function that serves to power down the drive following five minutes of inactivity (though the aforementioned features are yet to be confirmed).
At this juncture there’s no word from Samsung concerning the new STORY Station Plus’s date of availability or pricing across the three models in the range.
