Lenovo ThinkPad X100e & ThinkPad Edge Notebooks Leaked

If earlier reports have pointed out that the new ThinkPad X100e is actually Lenovo’s first Thinkpad netbook, today we caught wind that the computer manufacturer is not going to introduce only one, but two models. Guilty for the whole thing is the new Lenovo ThinkPad Edge ultraportable, a rather powerful machine that feature sa choice of AMD and Intel processors (ranging from the AMD Turion X2 or AMD Neo to the Pentium SU4100 or the Core 2 Duo SU7300) designed for the ultra low power segment.
Apparently pushed into the X-series of premium ultraportables, the new Lenovo ThinkPad X100e is a 11.6-inch display and runs on AMD Athlon MV-40 processors (on the RS780 chipset), has 4GB of RAM and up to 500GB of storage along with WiFi-n, Gigabit ethernet and VGA output. There is a choice of either 3 cell of 6 cell batteries and optional Bluetooth and UMTs connectivity. The “netbook” is supposed to measure just 282 x 169 x 30 mm and weigh somewhere in the range of 1.36kg to 1.5kg depending on the battery chosen.

As for the ThinkPad Edge, the 13.3-inch notebook is simliar with the X100e, will have 4GB of RAM and up to 500GB of storage along with WiFi-N support, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet, and even HDMI output capability. Targeted at small businesses and fit in between the current IdeaPad and ThinkPad offerings, there is also an option for an UMTS/GPS module and or an external DVD burner.
The ThinkPad Edge will debut before or at CES, while the Lenovo ThinkPad X100e should be available a bit later for some $500.
