Sharp to Debut Android Phone in Japan

Sharp is not about to lose the precious market share they have built after so many years in Japan, hence why the company is working to introduce a new handset that is going to run on Google’s Android mobile OS, and it’s going to be released as early as the first half of next year.
Although Android handsets are not as popular in Japan as they are in the United States or Europe, it looks like Sharp — who actually has the largest mobile-phone market share in Japan, has proved their high interest in offering a Google-based phone. The official announcement was made yesterday in a late evening report by Masami Ohbatake, a company’s executive who failed to disclose which carriers will get the device first.
“Expected to be the first in line”, we obviously have our bets on NTT DoCoMo to make the new Sharp Android mobile phone a hit, but for now the two companies have failed to announce anything regarding prices or specs.
