OCZ, who are no strangers to TFTS, have officially introduced their new Colossus range of SSDs. The new OCZ Colossus solid states drives, aside from boasting maximum read speeds of up to 260MB/s, are also particularly interesting as they top out with a 1TB capacity SSD – namely the OCZSSD2-1CLS1T – which offers somewhat higher capacity than are usually offered in OCZ SSD ranges.
The new OCZ Colossus range of 3.5” SSDs, which are billed as having been designed particularly with high-end desktop users and enterprise clients in mind, offer RAID 0 architecture, thanks to employing cost-effective multi-level cell (MLC) flash, are also pretty competitively pricing, making them the ideal SSD solution for users and companies looking for affordable solid state drives.
“The new Colossus Series is designed to boost desktop and workstation performance and is for high power users that put a premium on speed, reliability and maximum storage capacity,” said Eugene Chang, VP of Product Management at the OCZ Technology Group, who introduced the new OCZ Colossus SSD line-up. “The Colossus core-architecture is also available to enterprise clients with locked BOMs (build of materials) and customized firmware to match their unique applications.”
The Colossus range comprises of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB capacity variants and are available to order as of now via Amazon (who have all but the 1TB model available for purchase).
