It’s not all pink in the GPS business, hence why the folks from Magellan would like to better secure their seats by announcing a new iPhone GPS app that would offer users, turn-by-turn navigation. Dubbed Magellan RoadMate 2010, the new application not only tells when and where to take a left, there’s also lane guidance, spoken navigation cues, a pedestrian mode for when you’re looking for a good espresso and a “find your car” option that could prove useful after a long night with the buds and a few gallons of whiskey.

The new Magellan RoadMate 2010, is a full-featured GPS solution for the iPhone. It brings highway signs and some 3D landmarks as reference points, allows to choose your travel destination from your Address Book contacts by using the a “OneTouch” feature and the company’s highly-acclaimed QuickSpell with SmartCity search for error free writing.

Priced at $80 for the North American version, the Magellan RoadMate 2010 iPhone GPS app will cover the US, Canada & Puerto Rico, and should assist you in English, French and Spanish.

Other than the new application, Magellan has also introduced a car mount kit that will support both the iPhone (3G and 3GS) and the iPod Touch, is compatible with any GPS application and also doubles as a charger. No word regarding price or availability, but it’s a certainty that you’ll need RoadMate 2010 to have it working …
