Adobe have announced the immediate availability of the latest iteration of their Flash Player for Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems in the form of the Adobe Flash Player 10.1 Beta.

The latest version of Adobe’s Flash Player, which is being offered for download now in pre-release format, is a pre-cursor to the full release candidate being made available in the first half of 2010 and is being offered up as ‘an opportunity for developers to test and provide early feedback to Adobe on new features, enhancements, and compatibility with previously authored content.’

‘Consumers can try the beta release of Flash Player 10.1 to preview hardware acceleration of video on supported Windows PCs and x86-based netbooks,’  says Adobe. ‘You can also help make Flash Player better by visiting all of your favorite sites, making sure they work the same or better than with the current player. We definitely want your feedback to help improve the final version, expected to ship in the first half of 2010.’

If you’re interested in shaking down the 10.1 Beta with view to assisting Adobe in ironing out any potential issues, or perhaps you just want to get a feel for what’s on offer, you can obtain the Beta candidate of Flash Player 10.1 here – oh, and of course, we’d readily welcome your feedback.
