Rumors have it that computer manufacturer ASUS is all geared and will join the 3D notebook bandwagon with two new models that will be launched early next year. First to lead the way is the 15.6-inch ASUS G51J3D followed by a 17.3-inch ASUS G72GX, with both “exuding” performance from every little joint thanks to its Intel Core i7 CPU, GeForce GTS 160M graphics, 4GB RAM memory and the two 320GB hard drives.
Other than the display difference, the two ASUS 3D notebooks have nearly identical specifications an unlike Acer’s competing Aspire 5738DG which comes with polarized glasses, the ASUS G72GX and the G51J3D include optimized displays and shutter glasses to allow you to see the three dimensions — which is probably why they’re going to be a bit more expensive, too.
According to Chinese website Digitimes, ASUS has commissioned Pegatron Technology to manufacture the two 3D notebook models, with prices definitely going higher than Acer’s $780.
The same sources have announced that HD and Dell are also working their way around with 3D notebooks which will be released on the market sometime, next year.
