California based manufacturer of custom gaming machines, CyberPower have just announced their new Xplorer series of gaming notebooks running on the brand new Intel Core i7 mobile CPU and Intel’s new PM55 chipset. The series consists of three new models, the X7-7700, X6-9900, and the high-end X7-8500.

The Core i7 CPU brings back the HyperThreading feature of the old Pentium 4 days which will enable them to execute up to 8 cores simultaneously in a quad-core processor. It also has Intel’s Turbo Boost technology which will boost the processor clock speed by up to 75-percent to match the workload.

The “lower end” X7-7700, runs on the Intel Core i7-720QM processor (optional u7-820QM and i7-920QM) and packs an nVidia GTS250 GPU, 4GB of DDR3 RAM and a 500GB 7200rpm HDD for storage. Both the X6-9900 and the X7-8500 will have Full-HD 1920×1080 displays and will have an nVidia GTX 280M graphics for an awesome gaming experience. Also thrown in is a Blu-Ray optical drive for high definition movie entertainment.

All three models will come pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system, 1-year warranty and lifetime toll free tech support. Price wise the X7-7700 at $1499 is the base model providing value and performance, the X7-8500 at $2119 is for sheer performance muscle, while the X6-9900 at $1885 is somewhere in between.
