Fujitsu Keitai F-04B Modular Cellphone Prototype

For those wondering how the mobile phone of the future will look like, Fujitsu may have an answer for you. After taking the wraps off their new Fujitsu Keitai F-04B Modular Cellphone at the last CEATEC 2008 — which left us drooling to be honest, today, the Japanese manufacturer came up with a working prototype that they played with during a press conference in Roppongi.
The new Fujitsu Keitai F-04B is a different kind of mobile phone, one that splits in two sections connected via Bluetooth — a sliding QWERTY keyboard on front and a hidden 3.4-inch LCD touchscreen display unit below, each featuring a dedicated Li-ion battery.
But what could be the most interesting feature other than the 12.2-megapixel camera and 1Seg digital TV broadcasting, the new Fujitsu Keitai F-04B modular cellphone manages to hide a 854 x 480 pico-projector that has a 6 lumens brightness and allows you to project movies, pictures or even games. More to it, when you switch the keyboard with the projector unit, you’ll get to “actually use” the keyboard as a remote control.
There’s no official word regarding availability, but we’ll have to assume that people outside Japan will have to wait for a while before they get their hands on this Fujitsu Keitai F-04B.
