BlackBerry Buyers to Get a $100 Gift Card from Walmart

Buy a BlackBerry, Get $100 More to Spend on Walmart

BlackBerry - Walmart

Although Black Friday is only two weeks away, retailers have joined the crazy deals war already. If yesterday we caught wind that Best Buy is going to release a record-low Acer notebook for $250, today Walmart stepped in and announced that buyers who acquire a BlackBerry smartphone from them will get a $100 gift card to use in store on whatever they please.

As sweet as it may seem, the deal — which starts on November 14th at 8AM and lasts for only one week — allows you choose from the whole BlackBerry range Walmart sell and that includes new Curve 8520, the Storm 9530 or the Bold, but needs you to sign a two year contract with either AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile or Verizon.

Considering all the hype gathered around the new Motorola Droid and virtually any Android smartphone that reaches the market, it looks like RIM are trying to do everything humanly possible to get their sales skyrocketing this holiday season, and a $100 incentive offered together with Walmart, may just be the thing they need.

Not sure about you, but I know I’m tempted!

I’m glad your tempted because I’m not, don’t get me wrong, Blackberry is nice but signing my life away for two years is not. I’m a prepaid man now, I got the Straight Talk phone from Walmart which runs on Verizon’s network nationwide and I am very happy with it. The unlimited talk, texts and data for $45 per month is the best cell phone offer on the market.
