Kindle for PC App Beta Release Now Available

Kindle for PC Released, Kindle for Mac Listed as 'Coming Soon'

Free Amazon Kindle for PC Application

Having given you an initial heads up concerning Amazon’s Kindle for PC application last month we can now confirm that the beta candidate of Kindle for PC is now available for those looking to access Amazon’s ebook format on your PCs, though if you own a Mac you’ll still find yourself out in the cold as whilst the PC iteration has just gained its release the Mac version is still unavailable at this juncture with its release merely listed as ‘coming soon’.

For those unfamiliar with what Amazon’s Kindle for PC application has to offer, though we’s argue its title is fairly self explanatory, the new application, which is free to download, basically allows you access Amazon’s wealth of Kindle ebooks (presently standing at over 360,000 in number) via your PC without having to splash out for Amazon’s Kindle ebook reader – though, of course, downloading titles will require monetary outlay.

Its great news it you happen to want to access Amazon’s wealth of ebooks but, alas, its not such good new if you’re looking to access Kindle based newspapers and/or magazines as, for the time being at least, these cannot be used with the PC application. We would, however, expect these additional reading materials to become accessible to users of the Kindle for PC in the near to mid-term future.
