Google Offers Free Wi-Fi in 47 US Airports For the Holiday Season [Free Wi-Fi Access Till 15 January Confirmed]

Google, the giant company that is slowly eating its way through the Internet is ready to impress us with another initiative. Google is going to offer free Wi-Fi connectivity to quite a few airports in the USA over the holidays.
We all know how important travel becomes at this time of year and we definitely appreciate such endeavors. Staying connected with the loved ones during the holidays is very important as we tend to make and receive more calls as well as send and receive more messages and emails. And those inevitable flight delays ensure that we have plenty of time for some Internet browsing. That’s why Google is currently working with various airports across and Internet services providers across the country in order to provide free Wi-Fi connectivity in airports from now until January 15, 2010.
47 airports are currently included in the offer and these include: Las Vegas, San Jose, Boston, Baltimore, Burbank, Houston, Indianapolis, Seattle, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, St. Louis and Charlotte. Other participating airports like Burbank and Seattle have decided to make airport-wide free Wi-Fi a regular perk offered to their customers and they won’t stop the service after January 15.
Partners of Google in this project are Boingo Wireless, Advanced Wireless Group, Airport Marketing Income and others so we assume that these free Wi-Fi hotspots will offer you exactly the dependable communication solution you were looking for. Here’s what Marissa Mayer, Vice President of Search Products and User Experience at Google had to say about the free Wi-Fi offer:
We’re very happy to extend our Holiday Wi-Fi gift to the millions of people who will spend time in airports over the next few months. We know that this is a very hectic travel season for people, and we hope that free Wi-Fi will make both traveling and connecting with friends and family a little bit easier.
What she doesn’t say is that Google will also cash in on all the searches those people in airports are going to make. And with 100 million people travelling all over the U.S. from now until January 15, the travelers are also going to make an important gift to Google: lots of cash from Google search and related products.
In case you’re going to travel with Virgin America then the free Wi-Fi offer from Google extends to flights too. That’s right, you’ll be able to check your email and send virtual greetings on board of Virgin America planes so while you’re heading to your favorite destination make sure you also read your favorite tech blog, TFTS of course!
