AT&T Announces New Plans for Canada With No Roaming Fees

It’s not easy to compete with Verizon these days if you’re looking at their smartphone lineup that includes the Storm 2, a bunch of Android handsets along with the Motorola Droid or if we’re to believe the rumors that a CDMA iPhone is in the works, hence why AT&T need to do something, unless they want to lose their market share. And they did by announcing two new wireless plans that promise to make calling to Canada less expensive.
“Canada is one of AT&T’s most popular international calling destinations. The new Canada plans are ideal for anyone who frequently calls friends or family in Canada, or anyone who regularly travels to Canada for business or pleasure.”
Officially available starting today, the new AT&T Nation with Canada and FamilyTalk with Canada plans give subscribers 1,000 night and weekend minutes that you can use in both countries without having to pay any international long distance charges. On top of that there’s the ability to save unused anytime minutes with AT&T’s Rollover option.
The new Nation with Canada plan will cost you $59.99 per month, while the FamilyTalk with Canada begins at $89.99 per month and includes two lines of service. As for data rates, it’s the same $2 per megabyte as data rates in the US while in Canada.
