About two months ago LG Electronics has announced that their 15-inch OLED HDTV is going to see daylight in November, this year. They kept their promise and today we just caught wind that the super slim OLED TV — a yet to be named model — is actually going to be released in Korea later this week for a hefty $2,500.
On top of that, the South Korean manufacturer is working hard on getting its production facilities upgraded to accommodate the new lineup. Hence why they have invested together with Samsung in a new generation 5.5 fabrication line (that is due in 2011) where these organic LED display panels will come to life — leaving us wonder if that would be the release date for their already announced 30-inch OLED HDTV.
Meant as the largest OLED HDTV to be commercially available, as previously reported we’re expecting the 15-inch panel to bring a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, a rather generous 30,000 hours screen life, as well as low power consumption levels that would lower your electricity bill and would please the green-minded.
