Right after the new BlackBerry Curve 8530 has been confirmed for a release on Verizon Wireless this month (November 20th to be more exact), the good folks from Sprint have officially announced that they’ll be caring the QWERTY smartphone, too.
It’s pretty hard to compete with Big Red these days if you consider that they’ve done a great job in bringing some of the most advanced smartphones in the world under their roof, with the flagship Motorola Droid selling starting today. Hence why Sprint had to act, and the first move was to make the new Curve 8530 available for their customers.
The Sprint BlackBerry Curve 8530 is going to feature the same GPS, 2-megapixel camera, WiFi and EVDO Rev.A connectivity and a media player with dedicated . There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack, 256MB storage space, a new trackpad interface and a full QWERTY keyboard for better messaging and social networking, and access to BlackBerry App World.
And just to show Verizon that they’re really onto something in here, Sprint is going to offer you the chance to own a BlackBerry Curve 8530 in a stylish “Royal purple”.
No word regarding availability or a release date, but we wouldn’t expect them to be priced above than what Verizon will sell the Curve 8530 for.
