Samsung Mythic and Samsung Flight on AT&T

Although everyone’s all excited by Verizon’s Droid lineup and tomorrow’s events, AT&T has decided that it’s time to officially introduce the new Samsung Mythic and Samsung Flight. They are far from being a “proper” smartphone, both feature touchscreen displays and are expected to go on sale, today.

Of the two, Samsung Flight comes with a full QWERTY slideout keyboard, a 2.0 megapixel camera, a full HTML web browser and Stereo Bluetooth technology. Available in a 4.17”x2.2”x0.5” candy bar form factor, the Flight also comes with a touchscreen interface that provides one-touch access to functions like messaging and email.

As for the Samsung Mythic it features a 3.3” full touchscreen with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI and widgets, a virtual QWERTY screen keyboard, 3.2 megapixel camera and a full HTML Browse. It also rincludes access to features like AT&T Mobile TV, and social networking websites such as FaceBook and MySpace. MobileTV subscribers can enjoy access to full-length simulcast and time-shifted programming from FLO-TV including brands such as CNBC, CNN Mobile, MTV etc. AT&T’s Mobile TV service is available at $9.99 per month from Nov 8th.

Available in red and silver, Samsung Flight is priced at $99.9 after a $50 rebate, while the Samsung Mythic is priced at $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate.

I just switched from Verizon to ATT and picked up a pair of Mythic phones. A close friend showed me his Eternity and I was blown away. ATT stopped selling the Eternity and said the Mythic is the next most current version.

I’ve ordered a data cable so I can start doing mods. I’m as green as green can be doing this (I won’t blow up the phone doing this will I?). I’m mostly interested in activating the GPS Navigation (read a bunch of threads on this).

In using the speakerphone, people on the other end say they hear an echo. Is this normal? It is rendering the speakerphone useless. Anyone else having this issue? Debating on whether to take it back to the store for another model.
