Verizon Wireless is getting ready to sell the Droid and the Droid Eris but in the mean time the carrier has decided to quietly make available the LG Chocolate Touch too. The phone is now available from Big Red so if you’re looking for a cheap phone filled with media features then check the Touch immediately.

The phone comes with more than decent specs and it would definitely be a fun handset to carry around. The Chocolate Touch will offer you a 3-inch touchscreen display, a 3.2-megapixel camera with video recording support, 1GB of internal memory upgradeable up to 16GB via microSD cards, Bluetooth connectivity, built-in FM Radio, HTML web browser, a 3.5mm headset jack and 1x/EV-DO Rev. O connectivity. Verizon Wireless features like the VZ Navigator, V Cast Music/Video and Visual Voicemail are also included.

The phone can be easily used to access various social networks like Twitter, Facebook, Myspace and anything else you want to add to the list. The Chocolate Touch has support for HTML web browsing and it will offer you support for mobile email, web email, corporate email, instant messenger, chat and My Verizon. SMS and MMS support is also included so no matter how you decide to communicate with your friends and family the handset will definitely adjust to your needs.

The LG Chocolate Touch also acts as a pretty dependable music player. Besides the FM Tuner with RBDS support it also lets you play all your personal music files. Simply sync the PC with the phone and get all the music you want. The Music Player will recognize MP3, WMA, AAC and AAC+ files.

The 3.2-megapixel camera comes with various useful features which are supposed to improve the general quality of your pictures. Shot types like Normal, Panorama, Intelligent and Facial Makeover are available. Color effects and white balance can be also be used for taking special pictures. The camera will record videos on the go which could be very useful at some point in the future.

The phone will be available for just $79.99 after a $50 online discount and with a 2-year contract. I will remind you that for an extra $20 you’ll be able to get the HTC Droid Eris instead, a phone that we have covered extensively already and which is supposed to go on sale tomorrow.
