Toshiba has jumped on the Windows 7 bandwagon and has announced a new Satellite Pro netbook lineup which includes the Satellite Pro U500 Touch, the Satellite Pro L450 and L550, along with the new convertible tablet Portege M750. With various screen sizes that include a 13.3-inch touchscreen and the standard 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch, the business oriented machines actually ship with Windows XP but also include a Windows 7 Professional DVD that you’ll use to upgrade whenever ready.
The smallest of the bunch is the new 12.1-inch convertible tablet Portégé M750 which comes with Core 2 Duo processors (2.2GHz T6600, 2.4GHz P8600 or 2.53GHz P9400), features a LED backlit display and is priced North of $1,279 with 2GB of RAM and an 160GB hard drive.
Then there’s the 13.3-inch Satellite Pro U500 Touch that brings the “portability of a 12.1″ business notebook and the workspace of a 14″ system”. It comes with a stylish and functional design, and features an innovative multi-touch display that brings Toshiba’s touch-ready productivity software, LifeSpace. Pricing starts at $999.
Last but not least are the desktop replacement notebooks — the 15.6-inch Satellite Pro L450 series and 17.3-inch L550. If the first one runs on Intel Core 2 Duo T5870 processors, has up to 4GB of RAM, up to 320GB of storage, a memory card reader and HDMI out, the L550 is an Energy Star compliant machine that runs on a Core 2 Duo T6670 CPU, with 4GB of RAM, Bluetooth and a DVD-SuperMulti drive. They start from $529 and $999, respectively.
