TAG Heuer Announces MERIDIIST Automobili Lamborghini Phone [1.9-In Sapphire Crystal Display, 2-MP Camera, Lamborghini Logo; 1963 Units Available in November]

Let’s forget for a second about Android OS, BlackBerry handsets and Apple’s iPhone! Other cell phone makers out there are making fabulous devices which deserve our attention. Sure they’re not fancy smartphones most of the time, but rather limited edition collector’s items.

Such could be the case of TAG Heuer’s latest luxury phone, the MERIDIIST Automobili Lamborghini. The phone has been launched officially today by TAG Heuer and as you can easily imagine, the Lamborghini Murcielago has inspired it.

Automobili Lamborghini has been founded in 1963, and that’s exactly how many MERIDIIST Automobili Lamborghini units will be available this November. The phone will therefore honor the Murcielago in every way possible. The new MERIDIIST is made of black titanium carbide coated 316L stainless steel and it wears the same signature on the battery cover that the Murcielago LP 640 has on its V12 engine block. The back of the phone has engraved the limited edition number while the keyboard has the Taurus bull, Lamborghini’s trademark, right on the steel central button.

One other impressive feature of the MERIDIIST Automobili Lamborghini is the 1.9-inch display made from 60.5 carats of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Everything else is pretty common: a 2-megapixel camera and the Bluetooth connectivity will definitely be useful although not absolutely necessary.

The battery is worth mentioning too. It offers 7 hours of continuous talk time and about 28 days of standby which means you’ll forget where you put the charger quite frequently. Unfortunately the phone is not for all pockets as it will cost more than most people can afford. Nevertheless the MERIDIIST Automobili Lamborghini is a remarkable piece of work made possible by the creativity and dedication of TAG Heuer.
