It’s no secret anymore that Orange UK will sell the iPhone 3GS. The carrier has been waiting for a long time for O2 to lose iPhone exclusivity and it’s ready to enter the game with some competitive prices. Vodafone UK will also sell the iPhone 3GS soon but let’s focus on Orange for the time being.
Orange UK has officially announced the iPhone 3GS and today we have pricing details for you. Did it pay off to wait for Orange to launch Apple’s iPhone? Well, you should be the judge of that! Orange UK will sell both the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G and the carrier is ready to offer both of them free of charge when bundled with certain plans.
A free 8GB iPhone 3G is available for free if you’re willing to commit to a 24-month contract of at least £30 per month while the iPhone 3GS is available for free when you select a 24-month contract of at least £45 per month. Unlimited data has been mentioned but that means 750MB of traffic per month for Orange UK which is far from unlimited let alone reasonable.
Would you rather get the iPhone on a pre-pay plan? In that case the iPhone 3G is available for £333 as long as you’re getting a £50 credit too. Worried about data caps? The PAYG plan offers you 250MB of data each month and unlimited BT-Openzone Wi-Fi use for 12 months.
Interested in tethering costs? That’s available too with prices starting at £5 per month, but you should get more details from an Orange representative.
The iPhones will be available starting next week and November 10 is the day to line up in front of an Orange UK store for the iPhone. The handset should be available in all 402 UK Orange stores with some stores opening as early as 7AM and closing late. The iPhone will also be available from Orange HMV, Apple Retail Stores, Carphone Warehouse, Phones4U and other selected partners. Will you get it the iPhone from Orange?
