Ericsson Spider Computer Prototype for Halloween or the Future?

Spider PC Concept with Pico-projected Screen & Laser-projected Keyboard

Ericsson Spider PC Concept

Not sure about you but when I think of computers of the future it always goes down to size as I’m pretty sure we’ll either have everything on our mobile phones (which would have to be pretty powerful to be capable of doing what we do today on our laptops or PCs) or there’s be something more like Star Trek. Coming in to support the latter, the folks from Ericsson have come up with a portable computer, the Ericsson Spider PC concept.

Introduced at the Taiwan Broadband show, the Ericsson Spider PC prototype comes with a bizarre spider-leg tripod design. It features a pico-projector to show the screen and a laser-projected keyboard, and will have all the features of a laptop like wireless broadband connectivity and a built in battery — which by the looks of it, doesn’t mean it will actually be portable. No?

To be honest, although it’s meant to revolutionize the computing world in 2020, the new Ericsson Spider computer fails at getting us “wow” as we’re not that much into laser keyboards and suc. So guys, how about actually putting some futuristic specs in there? Or could it be your take on scaring us for the Halloween?
