Nokia TD-SCDMA 6788 Announced for China Mobile

Nokia is trying to gain more market share in China and has announced that their Nokia 6788 will debut on China Mobile just in time for the holidays. Available on the world’s largest carrier. the new 6788 is a TD-SCDMA 3G compatible handset that the Finish expect to rope in some good numbers by the end of the year.
To charm the users, Nokia 6788 is a slider that acts like a smartphone. It runs on the Symbian S60 platform, features a 2.-inch QVGA display and comes equipped with a 5megapixel camera with dual LED flash. Specifically built for the China Mobile network and inspired by traditional Chinese furniture and architecture, the new handset will bring design elements and Chinese patterns on the back of the slide and the battery cover.
To be honest it’s not something we’ll die for as it’s a lower-end handset us, but the Chinese market has been known for buying in on such devices. No word regarding pricing so far, but we know for sure that the Finish giant wants to have it on shelves before the end of December 2009.
