Android Google Maps

It’s not long since they’ve announced the new Android 2.0 Eclair and rumors already have it that Google plans on taking the mobile world by a storm with a new navigation application that will offer voice-guided, real-time, turn-by-turn navigation for free.

Those not looking for a GPS navigator always had an option to eschew the traditional systems with custom built applications that used Google Maps, but with Mountain View “clearly investing in mapping” in the last few years and considering that they’ve made a habit of entering a market then putting established players out of business, their own mobile navigation application seems like something doable.

Since the application is going to be free, we’ll have to speculate that it’s going to be ad-supported — which makes us wonder if a paid version will exist or not. More to it how are the ads going to look like? “Turn right past Starbucks, where they’re giving a free cup of coffee this morning?”

It the Google navigation app will actually release that will certainly shaken things up and will make you want an Android device, even more. We know we do!
