If you had enough with Android smartphones, BlackBerries or Palms, you should already know that Sony Ericsson’s new Equinox is being slated for a release on T-Mobile. What’s interesting is that the Swedes have picked October 28 (yes, this Wednesday) as a release date for the T-Mobile exclusive Equinox, which means that the handset will have to fight Verizon’s Motorola Droid or the BlackBerry Smart2.
Sony Ericsson Equinox is 3G clamshell mobile that features an “eye-catching night effects” design that’s supposed to appeal to the young with its custom light features (on the outer shell) in Amber, Sapphire, Beryl, Diamond, and Amethyst that will enable users to never miss a call or a text message.
Specs wise, the Equinox will include a 2.2-inch QVGA 262K TFT display (240 x 320 pixels), a 3.2 megapixel camera with multimedia features that allows to shoot video and upload it directly to YouTube, Stereo Bluetooth connectivity and picture messaging. On top of that there’s also support for GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 networks and HSDPA 2100/1700 networks.
“The Sony Ericsson Equinox(TM) phone echoes Sony Ericsson’s tradition of style, personalization and multimedia,” said Karen Morris, vice president of marketing, Sony Ericsson. “With a host of dynamic features that put the power of personality in your hands, it’s a stunning 3G phone that reflects the mood of each individual user.”
No price leak for now.
