Orange iPhone 3GS with Orange Logo

Although it was long known that O2’s exclusivity agreement with Apple is going to drop November 9th and that another carrirer will get the new iPhone 3GS in their stores before the end of the year, we caught wind that things have gone official and that the smartphone, which was know to be set for an Orange release,  is now set for a November 10 release date on Orange UK.

With 20million customers and counting, O2 UK has managed to sell more than 1 million iPhones in the two years of exclusive contract with Apple, but now that they have some 200,000 people interested in the handset already,  it’s time for Orange to come up with an unbeatable offer for their clients. And considering that the holiday season is just around the corner, we’ll be getting two large carriers in the UK fighting to get more subscribers, which only means lower costs.

Although Orange UK haven’t leaked anything regarding prices, company execs have said that they’re after “value”, which means that their version of the iPhone 3GS might come preloaded with applications and could include all sorts of accessories in the box.

And did we mention Vodafone UK will get the right to sell the iPhone in early 2010? Things are looking good for the Brits, don’t you think?
