Computers manufacturers must really be aware of how much we don’t like Windows Vista. That’s why they are announcing all sorts of new desktops, all-in-ones, touchscreen displays, laptops, netbooks and tablets these days. We want new computers and we definitely want to try a stable OS. And if Apple computers are out of the question then Windows 7 is the way to go.
Lenovo is one of those manufacturers anxious to sell Windows 7 machines and the company has officially announced a new netbook, the 11.6-inch IdeaPad U150, at least for the Japanese market. The computer comes with a 11.6-inch LED-backlit glossy display that will offer a 1,366 x 768 resolution and a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. An ultra-low power 1.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU2300 runs under the hood and coupled with the 2GB of DDR3 RAM, upgradeable up to 8GB, will deal successfully with anything you would throw at him. Other features include a 250GB hard drive, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, gigabit Ethernet connectivity, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, USB 2.0, HDMI, VGA, audio in/out and USB/eSATA connectors, a multiformat card reader, Dolby Sound Room speaker technology and multitouch support for the trackpad.
You’ll have to admit that this baby right here is much better than your average netbook. It has the necessary resources to deal with work-related chores or serve your entertainment purposes.
The 6-cell battery is said to be able to offer you 7 hours of life and that’s impressive considering that it’s running Windows 7 in the background. Just when you thought you couldn’t be impressed anymore I will mention two extra features that this IdeaPad U150 brings to the table. These are the OneKey Rescue System which basically can restore lost data with a push of a button and the VeriFace technology that lets you log on by simply using your face instead of a password. Sure it might not work with your Halloween costume but otherwise the face-recognition system should work flawlessly for you.
The IdeaPad U150 doesn’t have an official price yet and we have no idea when it will be available in other markets than Japan but we will definitely keep you posted.
