Given the bad economy and the fact that everyone is trying to be greener these days, users and manufacturers have concentrated to come up with consumer electronics that will go low on energy consumption. A good example is ViewSonic who have added to their Viewbook collection with the new VB120, VB130 & VB140 PRO notebooks that run on Intel CULV processors.
Today’s announcement includes the stylish 12.1-inch VB120, the 13.3-inch VB130 and the 14-inch VB140 Pro, with all of them getting an 1366×768 resolution display, a six-cell ultra-long battery life (8 hours runtime), up to 500GB of storage and up to 4GB of RAM — which is enough for such a laptop, as it’s not intended for our gaming needs, isn’t it?
Speaking of CPUs, the new Viewbook VB120 runs on a 1.3GHz Intel Celeron ULV743 and should cost $599. The VB130 allows for either the Celeron at $699, a 1.3GHz Intel Pentium Dual Core 4100at $799 and a more powerful 1.3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 7300 that will ramp up $899. As for the largest of them all, the ViewBook VB140 PRO runs on the same Core 2 Duo and sells for just shy of $949.
Count Windows 7 Home Premium and it’s not a bad after all.
