Best Buy already accounts for 19%, if not more, of the U.S. consumer electronics market so expansion seems like the way to go. Best Buy currently operates more than 1,150 stores in the markets mentioned above and it plans to significantly increase that number all the way up to 1,800.

In the UK Best Buy has already purchased 50% of The Carphone Warehouse and the first Best Buy UK stores should be available next spring. 200 Best Buy stores should be available in the UK at some point in the near future although there are no exact details about their location and arrival dates.

What is known so far is that the first two Best Buy stores in the UK will be opened at The Junction retail park near the Lakeside Shopping Centre in Thurrock Essex and at the Prupim’ Hedge End Retail Park near Southhampton.
