Pantech have just confirmed the availability of their double keyboard touting 3G phone, the 3G Pantech Reveal, which, unsurprisingly, is billed as being optimised for both texting and emailing, via AT&T.

The 3G Pantech Reveal, aside from boasting dual keyboards – consisting of a front mounted numeric keyboard supplemented by a slider QWERTY keyboard – comes with a 2.2” 320 x 240 resolution 262K color display and a (less than noteworthy) 1.3 megapixel camera (really there is no excuse for such poor camera resolution these days, except as an all to obvious means of keeping pricing down), 256MB of built in memory which can be supplemented with microSD/microSDHC memory cards whilst, in terms of connectivity, whilst Stereo Bluetooth (v1.2 – no, seriously) is in evidence there’s no sign of WiFi (again, extremely disappointing).
On the plus side the Pantech Reveal will happily play ball with MPEG4, H.263, H.264 video and MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, RA audio file formats whilst offering up GPS functionality – but whether this runs to photo geo-tagging we’re unable to ascertain at this juncture.
Pantech Reveal Key Features:
- Two, Always-active Keyboards – Full QWERTY and numeric keyboards stay active when both are open to make writing messages with numbers and letters easier than ever.
- Music and Video – Discover, play, store and manage your favorite music and video using AT&T’s portfolio of mobile music services, including Napster & eMusic Mobile.
- 3G Speeds – The nation’s fastest 3G network makes browsing the Web, updating your status, and streaming music and video fast and enjoyable.
- Navigation – AT&T Navigator provides voice-guided, turn-by-turn directions in real time.
- Video Recording and Picture Taking – Take and share pics and video clips using AT&T’s Video Share calling.
The 3G Pantech Reveal, which we cannot help but surmise is aimed especially at the teen market (failing that you’ll need to seriously reel in your expectations), has just hit AT&T where it’ll set you back some $80 based on a two year contract and subsequent to a $50 mail-in rebate.
File under “unspectacular” – and that’s me being overly, and somewhat curiously, restrained.
