Having just offered you a heads up concerning the newly unveiled Onkyo P3 nettop, ViewSonic have just announced their latest AIO nettop, the ViewSonic VOT132, which is specifically billed as offering ‘the ultimate multimedia entertainment experience’ thanks in no small part to being ION based – hence offering up Full HD capabilities.
Powered by a dual core Atom processor (namely the 1.6GHz Atom 330), the ViewSonic VOT132 nettop PC, which is based on the Nvidia MCP7A-ION chipset, runs and which runs Windows 7 Home Premium, comes with 2GB DDR2 SDRAM, a 160GB SATA HDD though, unlike with the aforementioned Onkyo P3 if you’re looking for an integrated optical drive you’ll need to factor in splashing out for a separate unit as the VOT132 comes sans any optical drive – though ViewSonic helpfully point out that their VDD100 Super Multi drive, available separately, can be easily connected.

“Consumers are demanding green computing devices that offer enough power to serve as their connection to the digital world, while also saving on desktop space,” said Jeff Volpe, vice president and general manager of ViewSonic North America. “Our VOT132 recognizes these needs by serving as both an Internet server and entertainment hub, making massive, energy-guzzling PC towers a thing of the past.”
The ViewSonic VOT132, which measures in at a pretty compact 190 x 135 x 24mm, and which comes with no less than 6 USB 2.0 ports along with DVI, SPDIF/Mic In, SPDIF Out, Gigabit Ethernet LAN (supplementing integrated 802.11b/g/n WiFi) and a headphone jack is set to become available from 22 October and will set you back $499.
