If you’re looking for a decidedly compact nettop that touts Full HD capabilities, thus making it ideal as a HD entertainment center, you may be interested in the newly announced Onkyo P3 nettop which, thanks to its modular design, comes compete with a detachable DVD burner.

Details at this juncture are pretty sparse but what has been confirmed is that the Windows 7 Home Premium powered Onkyo P3 nettop is an ION based device powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom 230 CPU paired with an Nvidia GeForce 9400M G GPU capable of outputting 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) resolution and, aside from the aforementioned removable, slot loading DVD-ROM drive, packs a 160GB hard disk, 2GB RAM and 5-in-1 card reader whilst, in terms of connectivity, apart from integrated WiFi, there’s four USB 2.0 ports, eSATA and, of course, HDMI (allowing you to hook up the P3 with HDTVs).

The Onkyo P3 nettop is set to drop in Japan from March 11 2010 when it’ll set you back some ¥69,800 (circa $771 as at the time of writing) or, if you want to bundle in a display (as shown above), some ¥89,800 (circa $993).
