As expected Apple has completely redesigned the white 13.3-inch white MacBook while keeping the same price. For $999 you will be able to get an unibody plastic MacBook which still packs a powerpunch under the hood. In case you love the aluminum versions then go ahead and get them although this 13.3-inch tiny beast looks better than ever and comes with a price worth taking advantage of right now.

The new chassis has been built exactly like the aluminum version but from plastic. The MacBook is just 1.08-inch thin and just 4.7-pound light. Besides the new plastic design the white MacBook also brings a new LED-backlit 13.3-inch LCD screen to the table and a glass multitouch trackpad. I know you are impressed and you should very well be. At this point getting an Apple MacBook white or a Mac Mini is the way to go if you want to purchase a cheap Apple computer. Microsoft must be crying in a corner as this laptop alone could prove to be a best seller soon enough and deliver a blow to Windows 7 laptops.

So let’s take a look at everything that sits nicely under that unibody white plastic hood:

  • 13.3-inch widescreen LED-backlit 1280 x 800 glossy display
  • 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 3MB shared L2 cache
  • 1066 MHz front-side bus
  • 2GB 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM, expandable to 4GB
  • NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics
  • 250 GB serial ATA hard drive running at 5400 rpm, with Sudden Motion Sensor
  • a slot-load 8X SuperDrive® with double-layer support (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
  • Mini DisplayPort for video output (adapters sold separately)
  • built-in AirPort Extreme® 802.11n wireless networking and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR
  • Gigabit Ethernet port
  • built-in iSight® video camera
  • two USB 2.0 ports
  • one audio line in/out port, supporting optical digital out and analog in/out
  • glass Multi-Touch trackpad
  • built-in, 60WHr lithium polymer battery
  • 60 Watt MagSafe® Power Adapter.

So let me make sure you got everything right: LED-backlit LCD, unibody chassis, 7-hours battery and everything else we’ve gotten used to see in a 13.3-inch MacBook. How much does it cost? Only $999. And it’s available today. You must be looking for that credit card of yours already!
