Gateway Debuts EC14, EC54 & EC58 Windows 7 Notebooks

Not enough laptop models to choose from, check out Gateway’s new Thin-and-Light EC series notebooks that include the new Gateway EC14, EC54 and the EC58. Meant for “all-day productivity, fun and communication”, the new EC series not only look sleek but also offer long lasting batteries that are expected to keep Windows 7 running for nothing less than 8 hours.
First in line is the 11.6-inch Gateway EC14 with up to 8GB of RAM and 500GB of storage. Weighing in at 3.79lbs, it runs on either Pentium dual-core, Celeron dual-core or Celeron single-core CPUs, has a webcam, a multi-format memory card reader, HDMI out, Gigabit Ethernet and three USB 2.0 ports. It’s available in either Cherry Red or NightSky Black.

Its bigger brothers however, both the Gateway EC54 and Gateway EC58, are one inch thick, have an aluminum chassis and a 15.6-display. With Core 2 Duo or Pentium dual-core processors under the hood, the two models add a multitouch trackpad and a DVD drive, and should be available in Arctic Silver and Pacific Blue.
Available starting next week on October 22 (that’s when Windows 7 starts selling), the Gateway EC14 range starts from $549.99 while the EC54/EC58 series start from $649.99.
