AMD has decided to come clean with its newest graphic cards line. The ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series has been officially announced and you’ll find the HD 5770 and HD 5750 cards in stores very soon.
So what have AMD and ATI cooked for us? What will the new Radeon 5700 have to offer? Features like ATI Eyefinity, ATI Stream technology, DirectX 11, and Windows 7 support will be present. What does that mean for you? Better graphics, better gameplay and support for a lot of multimedia action in your life.
The HD 5770 comes with GDDR5 RAM, 1.04 billion 40nm transistors, 800 stream processors, 40 texture units, 64 Z/Stencil POP units and 16 color POP units. The HD 5770 will offer you a core clock of 850MHz and a memory clock of 1.2GHz
The HD 5750 on the other hand has inferior capabilities with a core clock of 700MHz and a memory clock of 1.15GHz but that doesn’t mean it’s not as impressive. The HD570 comes also with GDDR5 RAM, 720 stream processors, 36 texture units, 64 Z/Stencil POP units and 16 color POP units.
These numbers look rather complicated to take in all of a sudden but they make possible all those special features like ATI Eyefinity, ATI Stream technology and DirectX 11.
ATI Eyefinity will let you use no less than three monitors at once with the same graphic card. The more screen real estate available, the better gaming experience, right? ATI Stream technology employs both the AMD graphics processors and the central processor. That way you’ll be able to run more tasks at the same time while enjoying better graphics. DirectX 11 will offer GPGPU support tessellation and multi-threading support which will let game developers take advantage of multi-core processors. Direct X11 should be available starting with October 22 as it is supposed to run on Windows 7 computers. There’s also Windows Vista support for DirectX 11 although you’re probably going to upgrade to 7 really soon.
The new graphic cards will be available in the near future for around $200. In case gaming is not your passion anymore then you should know that the new ATI Radeon HD 5700 series will offer support for Dolby TureHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, HDMI 3.1which will transform your computer into an HD home entertainment solution. What do you think?
