Toshiba Satellite M505 Touch & Satellite U505 Touch Multitouch Laptops [New Satellite Touch M505-S4990-T & U505-S2980-T Release Date & Specifications Confirmed]

Having already covered the newly unveiled Acer Aspire AS5738PG mulittouch capable Windows 7 notebook, Toshiba have also acted to confirm the up and coming release of their Satellite M505 Touch and Satellite U505 Touch mulittouch laptops which come with 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 processors and both 14” and 13.3” widescreen HD TruBrite LED Backlit TFT LCD displays respectively.

Interestingly, aside from supporting Windows 7’s mulittouch functionality courtesy of their touchscreen displays, Toshiba’s new 14” Satellite M505 Touch and 13.3” Satellite U505 Touch laptops also come with Toshiba’s LifeSpace touch application which offers the following features:

• Bulletin Board – Gives users fast access to day-to-day activities, tasks and projects in a simple, visual and fun way. Get creative when organizing projects with the ability to drag and drop photos, videos, links, documents and applications into one place. Personalize and organize the board by moving, rotating and resizing using gestures to fit personalized style. Bulletin Board also includes several built in gadgets such as labels, calendars, a clock and a to-do list.
• ReelTime – Helps users easily find files based on when they were opened with a simple, fun visual history. With the flick of a finger, quickly scroll through automatically generated previews of documents, photos, videos and more, filter by file type or use the calendar to go back weeks or months.

The 14” Toshiba Satellite M505 Touch (M505-S4990-T) is set to release on 22 October at which point it’ll retail at just short of $950 whilst the 13.3” Toshiba Satellite U505 Touch (U505-S2980-T) will be released later on 1 November and will retail at $1,050.
