T-Mobile Project Dark/Project Black: Insider Details Obtained by TFTS

Project Dark/Project Black is the Term for a 'Company Turnaround' Says Our Source

Earlier today we brought you yet more speculation concerning what T-Mobile’s Project Dark (Project Black) may be (see: T-Mobile Project Black/Project Dark Speculation Continues [New T-Mobile $50 All-In Plan? New T-Mobile 21Mbps HSPA+ Network?]) and, in response to our call for any insider information that someone ‘in the know’  may be able to provide we received a snippet of info that serves to narrow in on what exactly T-Mobile’s Project Dark/Project Black may be.

Obviously, as nothing has been officially confirmed by T-Mobile at this stage, the following cannot be substantiated, but, having made this clear, there’s no doubt that the following apparent insider information we’ve obtained here at TFTS could transpire to be particularly insightful.

Here’s the communication we received, as is, from an anonymous individual going merely by the name of Mr T (understandably, we’ll be no more specific than that):

All the employees who received the information were required to sign confidentiality agreements. Each sector has received it at different times, the bulk of them actually received it the 13th, after most of the information was already leaked (Although it’s not entirely accurate…)

That said, the Project Dark is not any ONE thing..its a term for a company TURNAROUND; Last to First is what some like to say. It’s an all inclusive “package” that includes blazing speeds, 3 times faster than anyone will have on the market for years. Phones people actually WANT, using top of the line models from the top 2 cellphone manufacturers in the world (Nokia #1, and Samsung #2). Hot software like Android. And European priced packages.

And all of this will make Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint’s head spin when its released faster than anyone can have time to finishing reading any official press releases.

330 Million in new networks Verizon? Try nearly 10 billion.

Certainly, if this rings true, and there’s no reason to think that this is not worth taking with rather more than just a pinch of salt, its rather more all-encompassing than we initially speculated (we had it down as either a $50 all-in plan or 21Mbps HSPA+ service previously).

Your thoughts welcomed.

[Thanks Mr.T - appreciated]

    1. Nobody says:

No mention of an all inclusive plan?

Although good phones and fast speeds are nice, they also need to compete in price.

Right now the Sprint Simply Everything plans look really attractive. T-Mobile would have to to come up with a plan that competes with that to really attract a lot of customers.

so does that mean the unlimited $50 plan is out or in?

it talks about european priced packages, so hopefully that means a 50 dollar plan! I look at carphonewarehouse.com and see the plans they have, and they have all the stuff included for a much lower price than the 150 dollars we usually pay here…

    6. Nobody says:

Is this the Verizon 330 Million that the anonymous tipster is referring to?

      http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS127647+21-Sep-2009+PRN20090921

Does that mean that T-Mobile invested 10 million in infrastructure?

    7. IKnowBetter says:

This is a desperate move by T-Mobile to stop the bleeding. T-Mobile used to be an innovative company with several unique products and services. Now it is a company that can only obtain and keep customers by being the cheapest wireless service provider around. Project Dark is aimed at the consumer market. T-Mobile knows that it can no longer compete with AT&T, Verizon or even Sprint/Nextel for the business user and has decided to stop tying. The last advantage T-Mobile had to get larger business customers was the Enterprise Pooling Plans and those are being eliminated next week. Only customers that currently have those plans will be allowed to have them.
