HTC HD2 Headed to T-Mobile USA? [T-Mobile to be Official HTC HD2 US Carrier Suggest Unconfirmed Rumors]

The HTC HD2 is the most famous HTC phone I’ve seen so far. It’s definitely an impressive handset and it’s the flagship phone of HTC but you already knew that, didn’t you? The phone is heading to European markets this year while the USA is only going to get it next year. Guess what carrier will bring it to U.S. customers?

It wasn’t a very hard guess, was it? After all, I did reveal everything in the title! Don’t get all too excited yet! There’s nothing official about this move and 2010 is still far away. The HD2 is supposed to arrive from T-Mobile USA in early 2010 but as you can imagine, there are no details regarding pricing and availability dates from the carrier. What we do have is a leaked slide from a T-Mobile presentation.

The slide shows a device capable of offering you:

  • TV/Movies at your fingertips
  • Fantastic web browsing experience
  • E-Reader content
  • 4.3-inch high resolution
  • Capacitive multitouch screen
  • Snapdragon processor

Is that enough to suggest that the HD2 is going to be available from T-Mobile? The only flaw of the HD2 is the fact that it’s running Windows Mobile 6.5. I am clearly not the biggest fan of Microsoft’s mobile OS considering everything else available out there. Imagine an HD2 phone running Android OS in the background and you’ll end up with an even better phone.

Since we’re talking about Android phones we have to remember that T-Mobile is the first carrier in the world to launch the first HTC Android handset. And T-Mobile continued to launch even more Android handsets this year. So why shouldn’t HTC make an Android HD2 version for T-Mobile that would be launched early next year? After all, the slide in the picture above doesn’t say anything about Windows Mobile 6.5, so we are allowed to dream.

We’re speculating at this point, but what would you choose between an Android HD 2 and a Windows Mobile HD2 smartphone?

I would choose windows mobile, and when I got tired of it, I would swap out the rom for an android rom and go back and forth to what ever I wanted because I could!
I can’t do that with my iphone.

Hey Chris, I’m writing to let you know that though many may share your feelings about Windows Mobile, there are also many who do not. I personally much prefer the WM format because of the other uses I find for my phone that only WM offers.

I for one am glad that the continual noise about the imminent demise of the WM format have turned out to be at least wildly premature.

@Brad It would be great if one could switch between Android and Windows Mobile on the HD2 although I don’t think we will see that very soon.

@Gary I am well aware that there are a lot of WM users out there. But I bet everyone is waiting for Windows Mobile 7 to appear as 6.5 is more of a transitional OS. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want WM gone, I just want it better. :)
