HP has new Pavilion laptops ready for the UK market. The dv8 and the updated dv7 and dv6 have been officially unveiled so let’s see what these PCs are all about.
The HP Pavilion dv8 is a new 18.4-inch laptop ready to set new standards for mobile entertainment. What strikes us immediately is that large display. It’s an 18.4-inch full high-definition, ultra-widescreen, ultra Brightview screen which will definitely offer you a great movie watching experience. Furthermore the dv8 comes with integrated TV tuner, Blu-ray disk and a subwoofer which will contribute significantly to that audio-video experience I was talking about. Other specs include an Intel Core i7 processor, DDR3 RAM memory and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M graphics card coming with 1GB DDR3 SDRAM. As you can see we don’t have any numbers when it comes to the processor or the RAM and the hard disk capacity hasn’t been specified yet.
Now that we have most specs available, we naturally wonder about the dv8’s battery performance. HP has developed a Long Life Battery for the dv8 which is powered by Sonata cells from Boston-Power. The battery is supposed to offer you more than 1,000 charges. That’s from three to five times more than other lithium-ion batteries. We can’t be that impressed, can we? First we have to see it in action before praising it so we’ll be looking for feedback from you on this brand new Long Life Battery from HP.
Besides the Pavilion dv8, hp has announced updates for the Pavilion dv7 and dv6 laptops. In case you will want to purchase one of the two then you should know that HP will let you choose between the new Intel Core i7 and the AMD Turion II ultra Dual Core processor. You will also be able to choose a NVIDIA graphics card and DDR3 SDRAM memory for your next dv7 or dv6.
All three laptops will run Windows 7 of course. Microsoft’s new OS is coming out on October 22 which means we’re going to see even more laptops, netbooks and desktops become official these days.
The new dv8 and the updated dv7 and dv6 will be available from October 22 and pricing will start at £1,299.99, £599.99 and £449.99, respectively. Which one will you buy and why?
