Twitter Real-Time Video Tweets In the Pipeline

Having only earlier today offered you a heads up concerning Twitter and Facebook coming to Xbox Live we continue with the Twitter related news as, whilst specific details are, as yet, in particularly short supply its being reported today that Twitter’s founders are looking at rolling out the integration of real-time video to supplement Twitters standard text based tweeting which will allow end users to post video tweets from notebooks and mobile devices alongside text based updates.
According to the Telegraph, as credited below, Twitter’s founders are looking at implementing real-time video tweeting in a bid to push the Twitter medium forward as the most prominent social networking application just when its been suggested that the service is running the risk of stagnating rather than acting to develop and push for fresh features in order to keep up with the times.
Of course, there are third party sites that allow Twitter users to post video tweets – such as Twideo and Tweetube – but these have not, to date, proved quite as popular as may otherwise be the case with the fully integrated video tweeting functionality that’s reportedly on the cards.
Interestingly, as popular as Twitter is, with its user base presently sitting at around the 54 million mark, the service is actually yet to break into the black in terms of profits but this has not stopped Twitter being valued at some $603 million.
