Sprint officials have announced that Samsung’s Moment slider phone will be available from November 1st. For those who don’t know what we’re speaking of, the new Samsung Moment is actually the much hyped high-end Samsung InstinctQ that we’ve heard of, a couple of weeks ago.

In their press release, Sprint revealed that the new Samsung Moment is an Android smartphone with a 3.2-inch touchscreen AMOLED display that offers crisper colors and wider viewing angles. It comes with a horizontally sliding tactile QWERTY keyboard and runs on a rather fast 800 MHz processor. On top of that, there’s a 3.2 megapixels camera, an optical trackpad, stereo Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, integrated GPS navigation and an accelerometer.

Other than the above, the new Samsung Moment features a media player with a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack, up to 32GB of expandable memory (microSD we guess), comes with ActiveSync that allows access to personal and corporate mail, Sprint TV and easy access to Facebook, Twitter and Flickr. No word concerning battery life, though.

“Sprint is thrilled to add the powerful and sophisticated Samsung Moment to our growing portfolio of Android devices,” said Kevin Packingham, senior vice president of product development for Sprint. “This is the second Android product that will be available from Sprint this holiday season. With a full QWERTY keyboard, Samsung Moment allows customers to easily access the thousands of applications available in the Android Market. The excitement around Android products confirms Sprint’s decision several years ago to be a charter member of the Open Handset Alliance and lead the Open revolution.”

Samsung Moment will be priced at $179 on a two year contract, after $50 instant savings and a $100 mail-in rebate.
