A-DATA SH93 Portable HDD is Waterproof & Shock-resistant

For those who’d like to smash their portable hard drives to the sidewalks or wave them in the rain without fearing data loss or any other issues, A-DATA has a new toy you can play with. Dubbed A-DATA SH93, the external HDDs are encased in an innovative molded rubber-plastic material and special cushion materials that actually makes them both waterproof and shock resistant — an industry’s first, the company said.
Designed specifically for students, road warriors and the sports enthusiast, the SH93 hard drive promises to work just fine when submerged in water to depths of up to one meter, for as long as 30 minutes.
Other than swimming like a champ, by passing the military standard MIL-STD-810F drop test, the new device also proved its durability and the fact that it offers maximum shock tolerance.
Available in a racing car yellow, the beautifully designed A-DATA SH93 is available in 250GB, 320GB, 500GB, and 640GB capacities.
No word regarding the release date or the price, but since we’re pretty sure some of you would like to play fetch with the new SH93 and your dog, we’ll keep you posted as soon as we have something.
