Fujifilm Finepix Real 3D W1 Camera Gains US Release [Finepix W1 2D/3D Point & Shoot Hits Stateside]

Having been released initially in Japan, the Fujifilm Finepix Real 3D W1 point and shoot camera, which distinguishes itself in being able to capture both 2D and 3D imagery (the latter thanks to Fujifilm’s REAL 3D technology), has finally landed stateside.

Boasting two separate Fujinon lenses paired with two 1/2.3” CCDs allowing the device to ‘see’ much the same way as we do from differing perspectives that it then brings together in-camera to create 3D images, the Fujifilm Finepix Real 3D W1 is especially interesting as, unlike with the vast majority of consumer level 3D imaging devices out there, you won’t be needing those special glasses in order to see the 3D effect in action – as it’ll be displayed directly on the Finepix Real 3D W1’s back mounted 2.8” LCD display in MPO/JPEG format.

Additionally, if capturing 3D images from such a compact device is not impressive enough, you can also bank on capturing 3D video in 3D-AVI file format at either 640 x 480 or 320 x 240 resolutions complete with stereo sound. Impressive stuff, indeed.

Aside from the obvious key draw of being capable of capturing 3D imagery and video footage, the 10 megapixel Fujifilm Finepix Real 3D W1 very much falls into the point and shoot category of cameras in offering a host of auto capture features which crosses over to its 3D capabilities with features such as interval 3D shooting and individual shutter 3D shooting being in evidence along with all the usual suspects such as sport, portrait, landscape, et al. Additionally you’re looking at 3x optical zoom ISO sensitivity up to 1600 whilst, in terms of metering the Finepix Real 3D W1 boasts a total of 256-zones with spot, multi and average offered as metering selections.

The Fujifilm Finepix Real 3D W1 2D/3D point and shoot camera should be hitting stores right about now and will set you back around a not unreasonable (considering) $800.
