Those who are keen flowerers of Android based devices may be aware of the HTC Desire, HTC Passion and HTC Predator which are touted to be released by the end of this year. Now looks like the Powers of Be at the FCC have given their nod of approval to the HTC Desire.
The HTC Desire, has gotten its Wi-Fi certification courtesy FCC but nothing else is revealed. Strangely enough not much is known about this smartphone considering it’s so much close to its release date but then that’s hardly surprising considering HTC filed a confidentiality request to ensure that nothing leaked out by way of specific details.
HTC is already making its presence felt in the US Market with its T-Mobile G1 and my Touch 3G hence it would be interesting to see how the Desire fares. The handset (FCC Approves HTC Desire Android Smartphone [Verizon HTC Desire ADR6200 Cleared, Path Paved for Release] or ADR6200VW) will be available on the Verizon network and will also go head to head with the Motorola Sholes / Tao , which will be Verizon’s first Android-based handset.
Those who are curious about the HTC Desire will have to play the waiting game till the holiday season or wait for the FCC to release some specs. The rumor on the street is that the phone will be Google branded and hence wont’ have HTC’s trademark Interface. Whatever the case maybe, we will definitely keep you posted.
