Lenovo IdeaCentre Q110 Nettop Released [Ion Powered Q110 Now Available, Free Win 7 Upgrade Included]

Looking to avail yourself of a particularly diminutive nettop that boasts refined aesthetics that would positively grace any room (ie, you wont want to tuck it away) and that happens to utilise Nvidia’s Ion chipset? Enter stage left the just released Ion touting Lenovo IdeaCentre Q110.
Measuring in at a mere 6” x 6.8” x 0.8” the Lenovo IdeaCentre Q110 nettop, which is billed by Lenovo as being a ‘premium mini PC’ (they obviously have a certain distaste for the term ‘nettop’ for some curious reason) comes with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom 230 CPU under the hood along with up to 2GB of 667MHz PC2-5300 DDR2 RAM a 160GB capacity hard drive whilst, in terms of connectivity, you’ll get a total of four USB 2.0 ports (rear mounted) as well as headphone socket, Ethernet and HDMI allowing you to output content (inclusive of HD) to suitably equipped TVs – handy considering that the onboard Ion Nivida GPU will happily throw out Full HD content.
That’s the good news. Now the bad as if you’re looking for a nettop with integrated WiFi or inbuilt card reader – hardly a vital element but surprisingly handy – you’ll need to look elsewhere. Additionally you can forget a webcam as the Lenovo IdeaCentre Q110 doesn’t come bundled with a monitor and if you’re wanting to hear what the onboard sound is capable of you’ll nee to factor in buying speakers (you can get those as you buy a keyboard and a mouse, as you won’t get those either). What you will get, however, is a ‘free’ upgrade to Windows 7 at the point of its release.
The Ion powered Lenovo IdeaCentre Q110 is avaibale as of now but if you’re happy to dispense with the Ion chipset you may be interested in the cheaper Q100 which comes in somewhat cheaper (specifically just shy of $300).
