Gran Turismo 5 to Showcase Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG [AMG-tuned V8 GT5 Star Billing Officially Confirmed]

If, like us, you’re counting down the days till the release of what is undoubtedly the most accomplished driving simulator ever to grace any console with increasing impatience the news that the newly unveiled Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG has now been confirmed for star billing in Gran Turismo 5 is hardly going to do anything to stem the mounting excitement.

Officially unveiled at this years International Motor Show, and presently staring at the Tokyo Game Show (until the 27^th of this month), the inclusion of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, which boasts an AMG-tuned 6.3-litre V8 delivering a mighty 571 horsepower, in the up and coming 1080p HD Gran Turismo 5, allowing gamers to experience the sheer power of a car that’s literally set the motoring world alight is, few would argue, a masterstroke on the part of both Mercedes and Kazunori Yamauchi and is sure to cement the title’s already certain success (not that GT5 was ever going to possibly fail).

So, what can you expect of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG? How does 0-100kph in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 312kph grab you?  Pair this performance with the Nürburgring Nordschleife and, well, we’re talking racing sim nirvana and, just to get those juices flowing, here’s a video of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG in action around the Nurburgring (feel free to salivate uncontrollably).
