
Griffin have announced that their iTrip FM transmitter Controller app for the iPhone and iPod Touch, which has the distinction of offering full control of their iTrip FM Transmitter add-on via a free app, allowing you to configure settings directly via your iPhone ot iPod Touch’s touchscreen, has now been released.

The first ever iPhone/iPod Touch FM transmitter to offer full application pairing, the iTrip Controll App, which requires OS 3.0, boasts a settings screen allowing for adjustment of SmartSound EQ and mono/stereo broadcast modes as well as for implementing Griffin’s SmartScan to find the most suited available frequency and offers the following in terms of features:

- Broadcasts music, podcasts and audio books to any nearby FM radio
- Displays track and artist information on RDS-compatible radios
- Backlit graphic LCD display is easy to read in any light
- Large menu button allows easy fingertip navigation of menus
- Griffin’s SmartScan technology automates setup and operation by instantly finding the best available frequency in any locale
- Users can save up to 3 presets for easy recall
- Choose between stereo and mono transmission for best signal
- Toggle SmartSound EQ adjustment on or off
- Transport controls allow track changes directly from the iTrip and return tactile button feedback to iPhone and iPod touch
- Micro-USB port for charging any USB-powered iPod or iPhone from any compatible charger, including Griffin’s classic PowerBlock or PowerJolt

Griffin’s iTrip is available now and will set you back just shy of $50 whilst the iTrip Controller App, which is also now available, won’t cost you a bean (but will be useless without the iTrip hardware, obviously).
