MSI have just launched their new MSI X410 ultraportable, officially taking the X-Slim series into the AMD territory. The new 14-inch notebook uses AMD’s new Congo ultra-thin platform with an Athlon Neo processor. This line of processors is meant to be an alternative to Intel’s CULV series which are used in many ultraportable notebooks these days.

Unlike the earlier X-slim notebooks, the X410 is designed on an AMD RS690E + SB600 chipset combined with the ATi Radeon X1250 graphics chip good for 1080i video. The notebook has a 14-inch 1366×768 pixel resolution display and supports up to 4GB of DDR2 memory.

The new MSI X-Slim X410 features built-in speakers, a 2-in-1 memory card reader, 1.3MP webcam and an external DVD or Blu-Ray drive. Connectivity options are available and include Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, HDMI, and two USB ports. More to it, there is also support for a large capacity 500GB hard drive instead of the default 320GB. And all these are packed in a 349 x 234 x 24.5mm box that weighs around 1.5kg.

The X-Slim X410 will be available in Europe with prices between 414 and 499 Euros, but there’s nothing official (as of now) concerning it’s American debut.
