The iPhone is a great gadget, but it may not always be comfortable to use its virtual touchscreen keyboard, especially when you have a number of text messages or emails to take care of (or fingers like mine, that certainly aren’t made for piano playing). The problem however, is being taken care of with iTwinge, an accessory that promises to provide a physical keyboard for your remarkable iPhone.

The iTwinge works like a “skin” for the phone and when in place it slides onto the iPhone using a sleeve that holds it. The QWERTY physical keyboard takes the same form as the mobile’s virtual keyboard, making it easier to get along with.

Designed and built by the wicked folks at Mobile Mechatronics, iTwinge simply transfers strokes to the physical keyboard. Although it draws power from your iPhone’s battery, you shouldn’t worry too much as its creators said it only uses a ‘tiny bit’.

The same guys said that using the keyboard can potentially increase typing speed by 30-40%, while reducing errors by 70-80%.

Biggest drawback of the iTwinge keyboard is that it covers a very big part of the screen when you need to use it …

Mobile Mechatronics will begin shipping the $30 iPhone keyboard from November 17 onwards.
