
Following the innovative M7500 “Night Effect” phone, Giorgio Armani, the renowned Italian fashion designer, is tying up with Samsung to release a luxury branded slider phone dubbed Samsung Armani W820/W8200.
Meant for the fashion conscious, the new W820/8200 comes with a 3.1-inch AMOLED WVGA touchscreen with 800×480 resolution. The handset is rumored to be equipped with a 5-megapixel camera and a T-DMB mobile TV receiver.
It will have Samsung’s user-friendly TouchWIZ UI, while in terms of connectivity the W820/W8200, comes with Bluetooth and HSPDA functionalities. The luxury phone also has a golden rim around its screen with a possible front-camera for video-calling.
The pricing and availability details are still not available, but it is expected to have a rather heavy price tag given the brand that goes with it. The Samsung Armani W820/W8200 is anticipated to reach South Korean markets soon, but it’s unknown if the device will be available outside of South Korea.
