As I reported earlier today, Intel has just announced the launch of their newly updated Core i5 and Core i7 series CPUs and the marketplace is all atwitter. Actually, they are probably really just twittering. But the point is, that when Intel launches new CPUs the memory manufacturers take notice and typically follow suite with a new launch of their own. The memories mavens over at Kingston have decided to get a jump on the competition with their newest product which just so happens to be RAM that is designed to work with the new Intel Core i5 and i7 architecture. Coincidence? We think not.

In a show of absolute corporate vanity, Kingston announced today that it is the first company to ship RAM for the new Core i5 and i7 platforms. The new RAM kits that run at 2133MHz and 1.65V for the LGA1156 Core i5 and Core i7 systems began shipping today and are expected to make all those power-hungry super-users quake with anticipation. You can get this new uberfast RAM in 4GB dual channel kits and it’s a safe bet that the people at Kingston are setting their profit sites squarely on video gamers and graphic designers. Besides, I highly doubt that your mom needs overclocked 2133MHz RAM to check her email.

This latest Kingston RAM is, of course, XMP-ready and ships in kits running at a series of speeds including 1333, 1600, 2000, and 2133 MHz. If 4MB just isn’t enough for you and all of your WoW friends, Kingston announced that starting in late September they’ll be shipping 8GB kits in 1333 and 1600MHz frequencies. The Kingston 4GB 2133MHz CL8-8-8-24 kit retails for $394.
